Bosch Bursa Diesel plant is the first company in Turkey to win the EFQM Excellence Award for the second time.
Bosch Bursa Diesel plant also receives Special Prizes for Partner Development and Management by Processes and Facts.
The plant was awarded with the European Quality Award in 2003 and the Sustainable Excellence Award by the National Partner Organization of EFQM in Turkey (KalDer) in 2007.

Bosch Bursa Diesel Plant was assessed within "Large Scope- Private For Profit” category by an international group of experienced EFQM assessors in 9 criteria, Leadership, Policy and Strategy, People, Partnerships and Resources, Processes, Customer Results, People Results, Society Results, Key Performance Results. Achieving excellent and outstanding results in these criterias, Bosch Bursa Diesel Plant received the EFQM Excellence Award now for the second time. The plant was additionally awarded with special prizes for being role model regarding “Partner Development” and “Management by Processes and Facts”.
At the Award Ceremony, Andreas Wolf and Soumitra Bhattacharya , Senior Vice Presidents of Bosch Bursa Plant, said that: ”Since our foundation, we’ve aimed to “sell the best of the best“. With the commitment of our associates in the Bursa Plant on all levels we apply this philosophy throughout the entire plant and to all fields we are operating in. So, today it is a great honour for us to receive the EFQM Excellence Award on behalf of all our associates for the second time and we thank all of our associates for their contribution to this success.”
Hermann Butz, General Manager of Bosch Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. who was also present at the ceremony explained later that “We’ve started to apply the EFQM Excellence Model in 1996 and we always worked on the continuous improvement of our status quo. In 2002, we received the Prize in the European Quality Competition in the Operational Unit’s category and one year later we’ve topped this achievement with receiving the European Quality Award together with Special Prizes in the two fields; Leadership and Constancy of Purpose. Today, with this success, we are among the few companies to receive this award twice, and the only company in Turkey to win for the second time. This is a proof of the high quality and determination to sustainable excellence of the management and all employees in our Diesel Plant in Bursa. Winning the award is also as a result of the strong relationship and support of our International Production Networks (IPN’s) within Diesel Business Unit in Bosch , that enables quick and easy flow of information, benchmark and improvement of the process. “
Bosch Bursa Diesel Plant has a very successful record in terms of business excellence. Besides the awards by EFQM; the plant has been recognized by many other associations: In 2007 with the 'Honorary Mention Award in Europe' at the 8th Annual International Quality and Productivity Centre (IQPC), Six Sigma European Excellence Award Ceremony and in the same year with the Sustainable Excellence Award which was given for the first time by Kalder, National Partner Organization of EFQM in Turkey. In 2008, Bosch was awarded with the Middle East Excellence Inaugural Award (MEQA), Lean Enterprise Award by ‘Automobil Industrie’ Magazin and J&M Management Consulting – Germany as well as the Quality Circle Award by Kalder Ankara. Finally, by receiving the EFQM Excellence Award 2008 for the second time and special prizes for Partner Development and Management by Procesess and Facts, Bosch Bursa Diesel Plant proves its commitment to sustainable business excellence and quality as well as to being a good role model organization.
Bosch Bursa Diesel Plant is among the four plants of Bosch in Bursa and produces automotive technologies. In Bursa, the company employs in total more than 5,000 employees. Today, one third of all passenger cars equipped with a Bosch diesel system are using Common Rail Injectors produced in Bursa.
