Held this year for the second time, Bosch’s “Wake up the child in you” Toy Design Competition took place with the participation of students from the Industrial Design, Engineering, Architecture and Fine Arts departments of fifty-one Turkish universities. After the judging by a 7-member jury composed of Bosch executives and members of the Professional Association of Industrial Designers (ETMK), the winning designs were announced.

Winning competitors won design training in Milan…

In the award ceremony, attended by Bosch Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. General Manager Gürcan Karakaş, Bosch Power Tools Country Sales Director Heinz Gebauer and ETMK member and jury president Dr. Oya Şenocak, the first three finalists received their prizes: participation in a two-week summer seminar at the Domus Academy in Milan, Italy, which has trained some of the worlds foremost designers, and a Bosch Power Tools set. Honorable mention winners received, in addition to products, the opportunity of an internship at Bosch Power Tools’ R&D Center in Germany.

Most innovative design: “The Mosaic Game.”

Şenol Doğan, a student in the Fine Arts Department, Industrial Products Design Division of Marmara University, received First Prize for his design, the “Mosaic Game.” The game, which stood out for its innovativeness and its appeal to a variety of age groups, also gained the favor of the jury from a visual and technical standpoint. Second Prize went to Teberdar Gürbey’s “Toppo” game, with Third Prize going to Anıl Ercan’s “Secube².”

Gonca Onuşluel received an Honorable Mention for her “Tabletop Calendar” game, as well as First Prize winner Şenol Doğan’s second project, “Traveler.”

The winning designs in Bosch‘s second “Wake up the child in you” Toy Design Contest will be on display until year’s end at a variety of shopping centers and events.
