What was regarded as a specialty of diesel engines for a long time is now also a feature of gas engines: powerful torque for dynamic acceleration even at low rotational speeds. The turbo engine with direct gas injection provides higher performance, while also cutting gas consumption.

Interaction of high-tech components
While direct gas injection already provides up to 280 Newton meters torque from 1800 rotations per minute upwards, the turbo-charger brings top performance in the high RPM segments. Bosch has combined both technologies intelligently, thereby giving gas engines high power and low consumption at the same time.

Turbo charging
A turbo charger presses more air into the cylinder than naturally aspirated engines. The exhaust gas flow of the engine rotates a turbine, which in turn drives the compressor. The compressor increases the pressure in the intake port of the engine, so that more oxygen is available for combustion. This means that more combustible air-fuel mix can be generated in the cylinder. And that means higher performance and more driving pleasure.
