Small, handy, with many practical functions and a large range: the new Laser Rangefinder DLE 70 Professional from Bosch. This tool measures distances up to 70 meters with a typical accuracy of ±1.5 millimeters and uses these measurements to calculate areas, volumes or indirect heights using the Pythagoras principle. The wall-area function calculates the entire area of several walls up to ten times faster than a folding rule and pocket calculator. If the room height is the same for each wall, all you have to do is measure the wall height once and then measure the wall lengths consecutively. The areas are added up automatically and quickly, which is a very useful function for painters, decorators, tilers or drywallers, enabling them to calculate their labor time and material requirements considerably faster. The minimum and maximum functions provide valuable assistance to all professional tradesmen involved in interior fitting work. The maximum function of the DLE 70 Professional can be used to easily check the right angles of a room by comparing the measured room diagonals. The DLE 70 Professional does this by remembering the largest distance between two points. The robust 40- millimetre-long metal measurement pin may be folded out on the tool, is a helpful feature for measuring from corners and hard-to-reach areas. When the minimum function is set, the DLE 70 Professional displays the smallest distance between two walls when the tool is moved up or down along a wall. This is especially helpful when fitting built-in cupboards, wardrobes and similar custom-made objects. Both functions obtain their results from quick, consecutive measurements – the laser beam delivers a measured value approximately two to three times a second.

The new Laser Rangefinder with dimensions of 100x59x32 millimeters fits in any shirt pocket and it is very robust. The large softgrip coverings enable easy handling of the tool and protect it against impact. Moreover, the tool is dust and splashproof to IP 54.

The DLE 70 Professional is very easy to operate. The symbols on the control buttons are self-explanatory. The large LC display shows the user which function is currently being used and which reference point is set (rear or front edge, tripod thread or measurement pin), as well as showing the measurement result. The DLE 70 Professional will be available at retail outlets from September 2008 onwards
